I thought I’d do a write up here about sound deadening my CR-Z because there just isn’t much info out there, both inside and outside the forum. There’s like one writeup here with missing pics, and a few videos here and there, so I just decided I’d follow what I find and post my experience here.

I guess I can say I started sound deadening my car like 9 months ago lol. I read about using poor man’s Dynamat and how it’s basically the same stuff for much cheaper. I got 2 rolls and used most of them on the inside of both doors, and added some more to various other places, like the rear seating area, cargo area, etc. They helped some, but not much. The car gave the impression that you had your door ajar, and that went away, but the car is still very loud at speed, especially on the highway. Yesterday I decided to finish what I started. I’m glad to say that, after about 11 months in the Florida heat, the stuff I added previously is holding up fine. None of it is peeling off and almost all of it seems intact. There are a few where the rubber has kinda, I dunno, melted?
