I thought the point to working out is having more energy later, resting is for people like me who get tired walking to the fridge

This is a quite difficult to answer. First, it depends on what you are see as “rest”. If you talk about the sleep, that is main important part of the regeneration cycle - the standard 8hours of sleep is good. It is a highly individual - some people will be ok with less and too much sleep is also not so good (the good book for this subject is Why We Sleep from Matthew Walker. The other topic is the rest as “non-active” time. It is also individual, based on your goals, energy input and oputput etc. If you are on some steroids, it really helps with regeneration and you will benefit from shorter rest pauses + you can train harder. If you are natural, you will train hard and will need longer rest, or train more often but not so hard (needing less rest + actually, this is probably the better way for naturals - i saw some studies that Brad Schoenfeld shared about that i think).

Health and Fitness

Fitness training is in for your body goals. Nutrition hubs offer you dietary guides for a healthier lifestyle. You go through self-discipline. No cheats. Everybody wants this as they say “Health is wealth.”
While some are on a strict diet, there are also a number of people whose imagination is as rich the foods they eat every day; imagining themselves in a Scarlet Johansson or a Channing Tatum body in front of the vanity mirror. Ironically, at the end of the day, they flood your feeds with #foodporn #foodgasm and complain over their fats piling up. Have a well-balanced diet and activities instead of a rich imagination without an act. Health is to fitness as fitness is to health. They’re two inseparable things that go well with lifestyle.
