How do people become engineers without having interest in engineering?

There are many people out there who did engineering without any interest in it, they just did the studies to get a fine job and make their life more comfortable. Why do these kind of people become engineers who haven’t even invented a single thing in their lifetime? Who doesn’t even have interest in it?

The thing is when the majority of students reach about the age where they need to pick a discipline, they hardly know what do they want to pick.
    Then what?
Just go with the flow, pick what others are doing.
That is how such engineers become engineers by a degree but not in practical terms because it was never their choice to become one.
Not that all engineers are such, for which I don’t think there needs to be any justification as the world wouldn’t be functioning this well if there weren’t these brilliant engineers

Houses and businesses happen to be a home to people who dream of such. If you like going to concerts, sports events or if you work in a large private company that owns big offices and/or headquarters, you must've been concerned about how these structures were made and how safe it is to be in those places. Engineering focuses more on the technical and structural aspect. To come up with a good structure, the very foundation should lie in the hands of the people behind. This is where they share commonality. Engineers and hired workers must work hand in hand in order to come up with a good masterpiece that shall be a home not just to businesses but also to provide shelter to people who aspires of a dream house.
