Does Gmail recognize capital letters in the Gmail addresses?

I have never seen a Gmail account in capital letters.

    Each email address has 2 parts; before and after the @ sign.
    Gmail considers everything to be the same, as in the capitals will be taken as normal characters only.
    There are certain thing that one must know.
    Prefer to write in lower case only but if you have received an email address with different cases that go on with it.
    However, you must always use lower case only.
