    Most of the time it depends on you. It depends on what you like. If you want to let people know who you are, which is actually the reason of having profile picture, you can use your own picture. If you don’t want to let people know who you are, you can always use some random picture from internet. May be some of your favorite comic character or some avatar or may be your favorite animal, etc, etc. But in some cases the platform ask for a specific types of profile picture, most of the time it is your face, they ask for your real photo. In those cases you have to use your own photo.
