As a traveller myself, I understand what a pain I am to buy for. It’s certainly not easy to get something for someone who lives out of a single, carry-on sized backpack. My advice is to look for something that is small but meaningful. Actually, I’ve recently been collecting personalised notebooks. This kind of gift is ideal. If it’s small and thin, then it takes up hardly any space but it’s meaningful because I can write down my thoughts in it as I travel. That means so much to me.
Travellers like something which is functional so that it doesn’t feel like a burden. Think about packing cubes, travel towels, or padlocks. You need to think of something that they don’t currently own but that will enhance their experience of exploring the world. Failing that, flight and hotel vouchers are always welcome.
