Q. Should I petition her for a K1 or K3 visa?

Should I petition her for a K1 or K3 visa?

I fell in love with someone I met on a dating app and we have been talking for three years. I want to marry her.

Spouse visas in the UK are rather lenient, at least that’s what I’ve heard. I was looking for Spouse visa Australia but someone told me that UK is much easier to get. So I’m looking forward to moving to the UK now soon.

First, I want to ask how well you really know this person? Do they also love you or are only marrying you for a visa?

Second, you have to understand the key difference between K1 and K3 visas. The K1 visa gives your fiancée an entry permit to the US for marriage, and you’d have to marry her within 90 days or else her permit will be revoked. K3 visas are more ideal for couples who are already married. Say one of the partners were already married in a different country, and then one eventually had the chance to move to the US and become a US national. While both processes can be quite complicated, the latter option usually takes longer. If you are a US citizen now, you might be better off with a K1 visa. But then again, please think really hard if this person is worth all the trouble.

Dating

"Dating is the start of everything" - is that so? It is the stage where you get to know the person better. Online dating versus personal dating. People have different perspectives about it. Some say that the best dating should be face to face. It’s fortunate for others who find their better half through it. However, we cannot conclude that online dating is never successful and is worse. We may call it a Long-Distance-Virtual-Relationship having hopes and faith for each other. Somehow this is for risk-takers and brave hearts - no trust issues involved. Choice is a choice.
