American Airlines Refund Policy?

If you cancel your flight within 24 hour of booking you will automatically receive a refund and if not you have to follow certain steps to apply for a refund.

  • Firstly, you have to cancel the flight so that you are no longer holding a seat on the plane.
  • You can do so by following the steps to cancel flights or by calling American Airlines or online using flight check-in number.
  • Then you need to fill an online refund request form.
  • In the form, you have to enter your ticket number which you can check on the email you receive, and also you have to put in your last name.
  • Your itinerary will then be displayed and you have to fill in the reason behind your cancellation.
  • You will then be asked whether you would like a voucher or a refund. If you wish to travel with American Airlines in the future you can apply for a voucher and if not you can ask for a refund.
  • By choosing one of the options, you can submit your refund request.
  • Refunds will be processed within 7 working days but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the refund may take longer.
