Many farm structures have more than one building, usually made of painted wood or steel. While it is easy to believe that some of these structures are there just for the aesthetics, this couldn’t be farther from the truth.

All the buildings on a farm have their own key and sometimes distinct roles to play in the overall functioning of an entire farm. A farmhouse, for instance, is usually where the farmers and workers stay, usually not far from the barn which is where livestock feed, machines, and even livestock itself can be safely stored.

Other examples of farm buildings are the sheds, which are strictly used for conditioning and storage. Farm sheds are almost like barns but with more specialized functions. A cow shed, for example, is used to keep cows only.

A silo is another example of a popular farm building. Silos are used to strictly store grains such as rice and corn. Like most farm buildings, silos help guarantee safety from external influences such as rodents and bugs.
